Vision

OSCorp is an in-space services company at the vanguard of cementing U.S. space supremacy to safeguard the space domain and build a thriving in-space economy. We develop cutting-edge technologies at the nexus of GN&C, AI/ML, LiDAR sensors, space robotics, and lasercom terminals.

Technology

OSCorp is developing robust autonomous relative navigation systems for safe Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO) involving inspection & capture of uncooperative objects using fuel-optimal maneuvers, coupled with advanced low Size, Weight, Power, and Cost (SWaP-C) wide-angle non-mechanical beam steering lasercom terminals & LiDAR sensors for Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and secure Optical Intersatellite Links (OISLs).

Mission

OSCorp's mission is to revolutionize space operations by delivering strategic capabilities for the U.S. government and commercial space operators. We aim to provide government operators with unparalleled situational awareness and enable them to execute tactically responsive space operations to protect strategic government and commercial space assets, and the services they provide, from denial, disruption, destruction, or degradation. We are equally committed to augmenting safety, agility, reliability, and efficiency for commercial space operators, while building a circular in-space economy and enabling a wide range of the In-orbit Servicing Assembly and Manufacturing (ISAM) value chain starting with Active Debris Remediation (ADR) of hazardous spacecraft and Resident Space Objects (RSO).

Feb 2024: OSCORp is selected to Join Catalyst Accelerator's Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Cohort

The Catalyst Accelerator, powered by the Air Force Research Laboratory Space Vehicles Directorate (AFRL/RV), exists to empower nontraditional technology companies to accelerate their involvement in the national defense ecosystem by providing connections, mentorship, and business development in a collaborative setting for a lasting national impact. Space Domain Awareness is the ability to rapidly detect, track, characterize, and attribute threats to our nation’s space assets, and plays a pivotal role in national security. The United States Space Force recognizes the urgency of protecting space mission sensors and systems and sought to leverage commercial software capabilities to enhance, supplement, support, and refine existing Space Domain Awareness capabilities. Jan 2024: OSCorp Awarded Competitive SBIR Phase I Grant ($275k) from the U.S. National Science Foundation

OSCorp has been awarded a U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I grant for $274,999 to conduct research and development (R&D) work on Optimizing Safety and Fuel Efficiency in Autonomous Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO) of Uncooperative Objects. This project will enable a novel class of in-space proximity operations. This research has the potential not only to sustain and improve space operations, but also to strengthen national security and result in a thriving economy in space. This award reflects NSF's statutory mission and has been deemed worthy of support through evaluation using the Foundation's intellectual merit and broader impacts review criteria. All proposals submitted to the NSF SBIR/STTR program, also known as America’s Seed Fund powered by NSF, undergo a rigorous merit-based review process.

June 2022: OScorp is Selected to Participate in the catalyst Accelerator's government Business Bootcamp

Orbital Services Corporation LLC (OSCorp) was selected to participate in the Catalyst Accelerator’s Government Business Boot Camp, which took place at Catalyst Campus for Technology and Innovation (CCTI) in Colorado Springs from June 13-23, 2022. Initiated by the United States Space Force (USSF) as a collaboration between Hyperspace Challenge, and Catalyst Accelerator, along with the National Security Innovation Network (NSIN) and Colorado Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), the bootcamp effectively engaged six small businesses with the US Government, particularly the DoD, to accelerate dual-use technologies and increase warfighter effectiveness. AFRL and U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) sponsored the Catalyst program through the SBA’s Growth Accelerator Fund Competition grant, assisting OSCorp with the lodging costs. Read more here.
